We had booked a guided trip to the neighbouring isle of Procida and thus had to get the breakfast very early as at 8 o'clock were picked up and brought to the harbour where whe took the ferry which brought us from Ischia (1. picture) to Procida.
Minitaxis were waiting for us in the harbour (Marina Grande). They brought us to Marina Chiaiolella.
Next we were driven to a point from which you had a good sight over to the Terra Murata, the fortified town on top of a rock which was where the people of Procida exclusively lived until 17th century to be protected from saracen pirates. The town Coricella who you see near the sea was created later, when pirate raids stopped.
Then we went to the Terra Murata where we visited a church. Taking pictures was not allowed. But from a terrace it was possible to get a glimpse on an nearby ex-prison.
Also you could see the town Coricella from above. Then we walked down to it.
Finally we got back to Marina Grande in minitaxi. There we had lunch before going back to Ischia with the ferry.
