I take the DLR to the back side of London City Airport to the London Eastern University campus - the round houses are flats for students - because I want to see how it is like when airplanes are landing here. Nothing seems to move there. I take the DLR to the airport entrance. Closed, but it does not seem like a permanent closure. Well on tuesday I'll see if I will depart from here or not.
Near the airport is a park from which one can see the flood gates which can be closed to prevent flooding when there is a high tide.
I make a stop at Canary Wharf. In Canada square there is agiant monitor on which one can see the world cup games. It was five o'clock when I arrived and I don't know for how long they were already cleaning up, yet there was still a lot of rubbish left behind by soccer fans.
I take a short ride on the tube to Canada Water and then take a long walk to Tate Modern.
I pass the place where the entrance to the Brunel tunnel which allowed persons to cross below the river.
I see intersting houses and bridges.
The Tate Modern is open till 22:00 today so I pay it a visit. Photography is not allowed except in the turbine hall.
Crossing the river on the millenium bridge I go to the next tube station and return to the hotel tired from all the walking.
